Enjoy a non-stop, two hour flight from the Youngstown/Warren, Ohio Airport to Orlando, Florida's Sanford Airport; The Youngstown/Warren, Ohio Airport is only a 1 hour ride from Cleveland, Ohio.

(Compared to the 20 hour bus or car ride to Orlando, Florida).

Just imagine... you'll be there in no time - experiencing plays like the walk of Christ, Daniel and the Lion's Den, The Sermon on the Mount, Communion with Christ, and many, many more.

For more information on attending the many Biblical performances at Florida's Holy Land Experience, contact HTA @ 216-956-6418.

Comparing Secrets Resorts vs Couples Resorts in Jamaica (Part 2)

Posted on October 26, 2013 at 8:51 PM Comments comments (321)
When comparing the Secrets Resorts to the Couples Resorts, you'd also want to consider:

So size would be the first difference. Then location; the Secrets Wild Orchid and Secrets St. James is only about a 15-20 minute ride from the Sangsters Montego Bay Airport.

PROS & CONS

+ Near the airport. Conviently located - to start your vacation quickly.
 - Some guests may say they have a problem hearing planes...we saw planes but they were too far away to hear.

The service at Secrets Resorts is impeccable! From your check-in (they act as though your their distant cousins that you haven't seen in a long time!) In fact, you can either be pampered with attendants ready to retrieve your every call or be in complete solitude, only hearing the sound of waves, island birds and the occasional Reggae music played during your stay.

+ Outstanding service from start to finish!
 - Prices may be higher than some of their competitors but you get what you pay for.

Overall, when comparing Secrets Resorts to Couples Resorts, ask yourself these few questions:
  1. How far/close do we want to be from the airport?
  2. Does the resort have exactly what I'm looking for?
  3. How much is it?

Secrets Resorts and Couples Resorts are both GREAT places to stay and with the right information from your trusted travel agency (Hall Travel and Associates) - your vacation will be a beautiful, successful adventure, well worth the investment!

Sleigh Bells Ring; Are You Listening

Have you listened to the sounds of Winter, it speaks and says, I want to hear the sound of children laughing as they make a snowman, build a fort or how about a snow-ball fight.

Living in Northeastern Ohio, we get to experience all 4 seasons and why does Winter have to be a time when we run from the elements? Have you ever thought about renting a cabin or a cottage in our state parks, packing food, blankets & clothing. Or what about having an old fashion Thanksgiving? All the relatives meeting there for a weekend - I guarantee it will be a weekend to remember. To add more spice, how about getting a small Christmas tree, and having the kids to make their own ornaments - with the help of mom & dad of course. What a time the family would have exchanging presents under a tree that was decorated by the family.

Being from the Northeastern part of the state, what do you say if we head on over to Middlefield, Ohio to the Amish Country and how about having a  delicious dinner at one of their many fine restaurants (um yummy); that is of course, after a day at the ski lodge for a day of - tubing!...yep, fun for the whole family, or what about a sleigh ride, pulled by beautiful Clydesdale Horses, with of course your very own red, plaid blanket across your lap.

For the more challenging ones, bring your own snowboard or even your skies - see Winter doesn't have to be sitting in looking out. Learn to enjoy all the seasons in Northeastern Ohio & of course, "Sleigh bells do ring; are you listening?

Tell us what you think. At Hall Travel and Associates, we can put this & many more packages together just for you & your family! Enjoy!!!

Comparing Secrets Resorts vs Couples Resorts in Jamaica

Posted on October 5, 2013 at 9:38 AM Comments comments (299)
(This assessment is only reflective of the 4 different properties I have visited in Jamaica.)

Couples: When looking for places to spend your next vacation, Couples "the name itself," draws viewers in. Who doesn't want to be a couple?
First, you begin to think of yourself with that special loved one, basking in the sun on a warm Caribbean beach. You'll then, most likely - begin to look at the photos of the property and check-out the prices & dates of when you want to go.

Now as a travel agency, this is where we step in:

  • DISTANCE - A little over an hour to reach from the Montego Bay Airport [Sangsters International Airport](Couples San Souci & Couples Tower Isle both located in Ocho Rios.)

CONS

        - The drive takes a while and who wants to wait a whole hour before puttin' your feet in the sand?

PROS
+ Away from the hustle & bustle of the BIG city;
you'll definitely be in CHILL mode at either of these resorts.

  • APPEARANCE - 1978 was the year when their founder,
Abe Iss, started the chain. {1949, Abe Issa opened the 1st year-round resort}.

CONS

- Decor not as updated as some of the newer resort chains.

PROS

+ During your stay, you'll take notice of those who've visited some of the Couples Resorts (either by photos or art) and feel priviledged to be a part of the history, heritage and prestige of this relaxed, All-Inclusive, boutique luxury resort.

Check back soon to see the comparison with Secrets Resorts in Jamiaca - coming soon.

Flying Soon? The Wrong Seat - May Be The Right Seat.

Posted on September 25, 2013 at 11:13 PM Comments comments (43)
While boarding a flight earlier this year, me and my wife got to our seats only to find someone had been in 1 of our seats! (And you know it was the window seat!)

My wife exclaimed immediately to the gentleman, "Sir, I think you're in the wrong seat." "No," he said. "I think this is my seat." My wife started to look for her ticket but I realized, he probably had the middle seat and traveling alone, probably didn't want to sit between 2 strangers.

Hmm, I thought...and told my wife...it's all good - I'll take the middle Hun...let's go on vacation!

As we started our take-off to Jamaica, I figured I'd use this opportunity to promote our travel agency and possibly gain another client.

What I learned was that this gentleman was also a business owner. Him & his wife were co-owners of their own photography company; Born and raised in Jamaica; established and seemed to be doing very well.

Needless to say, not only did we exchange business cards, we laughed and talked nearly the whole flight! My wife was looking like, "Dude you trippin'!" Ha.

By the end of the flight, we had gained a new client and as it turned out - dude was pretty cool. Damian also connected us with another business owner in Jamaica who owns a transportation company (GM Excursions - no website yet - but contact HTA and we'll connect you). During a recent trip back to Jamaica, we used GM Excursions and established business connections with the owner; used his services and I'm glad to report - things are going well.

So the next time you're taking that flight, if someone has your seat - before you call the stewardess or get into a confrontation; remember it's OK to still be friendly with your neighbor - the wrong seat may be the right seat!

(Use wisdom & discretion in every situation - sometimes you gotta do - what you gotta do. You feel me?)

By the way...here's his website. Tell em' L. Hall sent you! The Travel Agent from Cleveland!

Peace yaw; Yeah mon.

Child Proof For A Great Weekend

Starting with Friday evening, how about making smores or Rice Crispy treats, telling tag team bed time stories. Set up a tent in the living room with sheets, over two chairs [back to back] and pull out the sleeping bags.

Day 2. Sat. morning ask kids to help with breakfast outside in an electric skillet; make sure kids place bacon or sausage in a cold skillet before turning on. After breakfast, do tie dye shirts, or paint a picture together and have kids sign, date & frame. Put in room where it will be seen by all. After, take a ride on the rapid transit or train into town or go to the end of the line; grab an ice cream cone. Once you've arrived back home; hot dogs & chips with a cold glass of lemonade goes good with a tired mom and dad; as they rest for the night.

Day 3 Sunday. Trip to History Museum, take some P & J sandwiches for snack with grapes; kids love grapes; or how about an afternoon at the batting cages or putt / putt golf. Your children will thank you with hugs & kisses. The whole weekend should not cost over $100. Enjoy!!!

Cruises vs All-Inclusive

Cruises vs All-Inclusive resorts

I love to go on vacation and there's all different kinds to choose from.

Today, I'd like to share my comparison of a cruise to an All-Inclusive resort. They're different in many ways.

For example a cruise is cheaper than an All-Inclusive resort (upfront base price) but the difference with cruises is that they have hidden fees that cost a lot of money at the end.

Such extra fees include: alcohol charges, soda (popcard), port charges, airport transfers to pier, housekeeping, gratuities and off-shore excursions.

Compared to an All-Inclusive resort; all meals and drinks, on resort excursions, housekeeping, transfers and gratuities are all paid for upfront. Also rooms are bigger at a resort compared to a cruise cabin.

You'll also have a short time on each island with a cruise; long lines & lots of people on a boat compared to a resort. Some people have sea sickness on boats & resorts have all-adult hotels which cruises do not.

Rental Homes; Another Great Option

Posted on July 21, 2013 at 9:16 AM Comments comments (46)
Have you ever came to a point when you really want to take a nice vacation but the prices keep you at home? Or maybe you've just been there, done that and now would like to experience a little bit more.

Well think about this...a rental home may be the perfect solution.

There's a lot to choose from. Rental homes may be available near popular destinations, (e.g. Niagara Falls, NY. or Canada, lake front locations and even on private islands!)

O.K., in life - we all know, there will be times when we all have to share, so this is also something to look forward to.

"Well, what do I have to share?"

Mostly time with others by socializing, planning and decision making. You'll all (or at least the majority of the group) will have to agree on things like:
  1. Where?
  2. How much?
  3. And with who?!

Again, I reiterate: ( at least the majority of the group). Some are o.k. just being a part-& that's perfectly alright.

Once these 3 essentials have been discussed, now comes the fun part; GOING!

The prices will be extremely reduced, you'll have the adventure of experiencing  different things with others you know (or don't know) and most importantly...like the sayin' goes...the more the merrier!

The Kings of the Mic Tour - (Dela Soul, Public Enemy, Ice Cube & LL Cool J) Cleveland, Ohio

Posted on June 30, 2013 at 10:09 PM Comments comments (45)

June 25, 2013, Cleveland, Ohio hosted the Kings of the Mic Tour at Jacobs Pavilion at the Nautica.

Tuesday night seemed to be a bad time to have any concert (especially one of this status-Dela Soul, Public Enemy, Ice Cube and LL Cool J). Maybe the schedule would only allow them here for that night; whatever the case, hundreds showed-up to enjoy some ole' school hip hop on the shores of the Cuyahoga River.

From the start, one of NYC's DJ's got the crowd into a good feel; with ole' school cuts, like Flashlight, songs by Whodini and several other ole' school cuts. His stand-out comment to the crowd was, "We come in peace. One love!"

(Viewers Discretion is Advised-Explicit Lyrics)

Dela Soul added more excitement and continued to try to get the crowd amped! They performed songs like, "Me, Myself and I" and "My Buddy," which moved the crowd as the rain clouds moved in.

Public Enemy continued it's hard-core barrage of jams like, "Fight the Power and Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos." And later, the thunder & lighting set a great back drop for Ice Cube and Dub C, as they showed Cleveland some love; performing some of their old cuts from NWA and also from his single recordings, which was non-stop "Gansta!" To name a few were songs like, "Natural Born Killaz" and "Today was a Good Day."

LL Cool J ended the night with songs like, "Mama said Knock you Out" and "Hey Love."

Overall, a great perfomance rain or shine. The pavilion is covered, which leaves the audence & performers in-tact.

Thinking of Jamaica

The most beautiful place on earth. Turquoise waters, where you can hear the steel drums & the warm loving people. Where "everything is going to be all right. No problems Mon."

No matter where you go on this beautiful country; Negril, Montego Bay or Ocho Rios, you'll feel the love. Where even the golf courses have breath-taking views. Or if you would like a little adventure, you can cliff dive at Rick's Cafe, where you can hear some great live bands (music) with great food & drinks (Red Stripe mon) :-) or lay back on a sunset catamaran cruise.

You can chill-out in Montego Bay & take a ride on a bamboo raft & explore the scenic views in the Martha Brae River. They also have snorkeling, scuba diving and hiking in the Blue Mountains, where they grow their famous coffee. Go into town and have some of the greatest Jerk Chicken in the world! Yes mon! :-)

Or tour the home of Bob Marley in Kingston or do a tour at Appleton Estate Rum Factory where they make the best rum in the world. But whatever you do, you will have a great time. The people are great, land is just exquisite, the food is delicious & the rum is plentiful.

Jamaica the most beautiful place on earth.
